Images from a distance of 3 km for safety reasons show only a small part of the ruins left after a powerful explosion Monday morning in Itea of Grevena, in a factory that produces explosives.

The blast was so large that wall stones or pieces of concrete and gravel from the factory premises were thrown up to 300 meters away and it was felt up to a distance of 30 km to Kozan, while a large cloud of smoke rose hundreds of meters on the ground.
Eleven firefighters with 4 vehicles, as well as two groups of the EMAK emergency team immediately went to the scene.
Although authorities have not issued an official announcement, firefighters’ statements that pieces of meat were found near the site of the blast confirm the fact that three workers considered missing, lost their lives, while a security guard was injured.
The causes of the explosion are still unknown, which not only flattened the factory where more than 20 people work, but also completely destroyed it.
The factory belongs to the company ELTEK which was established in 2010 and was located on a private area of 100 hectares with 14 industrial facilities, some of them underground for security reasons, warehouses with a total capacity of 700 tons of raw materials and 200 tons of explosives. .
