The President of the Council of Europe, Charles Michel, has harshly criticized the recent Russian attack on the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, where fortunately no increase in radioactivity has been detected.
Through a video message, after a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Michel urged Russia to immediately open safe passage routes for Ukrainian citizens who want to leave the country.
He also urged Vladimir Putin to immediately stop the attack on Kiev and limit any danger that threatens this war.
“This is completely irresponsible,” Michel said, referring to recent Russian acts.
“We must show that we are ready for dialogue, so that the basic principles are respected in this dangerous game.”.
