The director of the Regional Veterinary Service, Fatmir Ozuni, said this Tuesday that there are no cases of bird flu in Korça so far.
“I have been setting up working groups that are in the field to see the situation of poultry in Korça. To date in the region of Korça we do not have any kind of hearth, we have checked 6 large businesses for the occurrence of cases. There are no sick or dead birds. Measures have been taken and every day we are on the ground to monitor the situation and we have ordered all farmers to report in such cases, we have a duty to take immediate action. We are in constant contact with the media and the veterinary service, to be with the farmer to have the situation under control. The veterinary service has ascertained 5 days ago a dead curly pelican bird between Little Prespa. The response came immediately and found that he was infected with avian influenza. We have stopped all sales and purchases around Pustec. The waters have shifted, it has been coming from the areas of Greater Prespa from the border of the Greek state“, Said Ozuni.
