Jemin Gjana, member of the National Council, gave his speech at today’s meeting, where he stressed that he was neither on the side of Berisha nor Basha but on the side of the Democratic Party and admitted that they had left the field since November 15.
According to him, the debates should be held on the ground and the DP should extend the meetings with the grassroots and ordinary members.
Further, he adds if it is yes to the resolution and decisions taken in the presidency of the DP, while saying that the 29 members of the Re-establishment Commission, which were created the day before. should not be part of the DP.
Jemin Gjana: I am today that I was voted to be in a legal institution of PD. I was voted by you who are here today and by some who were there yesterday. I am here because as the only individual, I have 30 years and 3 months in the first assembly of PD that I am part of this body without any interruption. No one has this luxury I will call it. At the helm, I told my colleagues that I have never been in Berisha’s party, Selamni, Shehu or Basha since the first day and until today. I am in the DP. And I am here today because I have been to the legal institutions of the Democratic Party for 30 years without interruption. I am in favor of the decisions taken by the DP leadership. We are not excluding those who have gone to the stadium. They are free to go anywhere. Those who have made a group of 29 as we have done 97, they can not be in 2 places. I am in favor of the resolution, poor I want to say that we have left the ground after November 15th. We came out in 97 ‘with automatic. We had problems with armed groups. But we did not let people go and we should not let people go. The PD body must lie on the ground, there we must have the debate.
The National Council of the Democratic Party met a day after the meeting of the presidency and after the Assembly held by Sali Berisha, where, among other things, the decision was made to dismiss Lulzim Basha from the leader of the Democratic Party.
In a statement last night, Basha said that the chairman of the National Council, Edi Paloka, and members of the presidency who did not support December 18, but openly sided with Sali Berisha, declared ‘Non Grata’ by the US, are expected to be fired. In order to make possible the call of the Council, Basha has decided to dismiss 4 secretaries, Belind Këllëçi, Ervin Minarolli, Ledina Mandina and Ivi Kasot, where their replacement with new names is expected.
