Top Channel has provided the draft resolution that the Socialist Party has sent to the parliamentary groups, listing several points, among which it urges the government to continue its engagement, in close coordination with all allied and partner countries in NATO, EU, and partners others, in support of Ukraine.
The draft resolution states that the Albanian Parliament: Strongly condemns the Russian military aggression in Ukraine and the grave violation by the Russian Federation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as an act that violates the international order, openly and flagrantly violating the United Nations Charter, the Final Act of Helsinki , The Budapest Memorandum, the Minsk Agreements, as well as a number of other international and bilateral documents that Russia has voluntarily signed.

PROJECT RESOLUTION
FOR SUPPORTING THE SOVEREIGNTY AND TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY OF UKRAINE
AND PROTECTION OF PRINCIPLES OF INTERNATIONAL LAW AND EUROPEAN SECURITY
Based on the United Nations Charter, the Helsinki Final Act and the subsequent OSCE documents, the 1994 Budapest Memorandum of Understanding on Security Assurances on Ukraine’s Accession to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty , The Minsk Agreements of 2014 and the package of measures in their implementation signed in 2015;
Expressing deep concern at the fact that the values of peaceful coexistence between peoples, democracy and human rights, promoted in Europe and in the world after the Second World War, have been severely violated by the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine;
In support of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and democratic development of Ukraine;
Recognizing the assessment of the partner countries for Albania’s attitude towards the act of aggression and, in general, for full integration with the common foreign and security policy of the European Union, including the decisions of the European Union for austerity measures;
Considering the growing weight of Albania’s role as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the period 2022-2023;
Considering the risk of the impact of the war in Ukraine on our region and the importance of a concrete perspective of the region’s accession to the EU for maintaining security and stability in Europe;

Expresses support for diplomatic actions and measures taken by the Albanian government, in coordination with our strategic allies, the US and the EU, in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and the principles on which European security is built and the global order of relations between states.
Expresses strong support for the decisions and commitments of the Albanian Government, as well as any other internal and external factors, to help the Ukrainian people with any means necessary to survive and to withstand the Russian military attack.
Calls for the immediate cessation of the use of force by the Russian Federation in Ukraine and for the withdrawal of Russian military forces from the territory of Ukraine according to internationally recognized borders.
Supports any attempt to stop the escalation of the situation and resolutely rejects the rhetoric of escalation by the Russian Federation.
Expresses support for diplomatic talks to halt Russian military occupation of Ukraine, stressing that the perpetrators of the aggression must face the International Court of Justice.
The Assembly requests the Government to:
Continue engagement, in close coordination with all NATO and EU Allied and Partner countries, the UN Security Council, the OSCE, the CoE, in the Balkan region and with other partners, in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and principles of international law and European security;
Strengthen the country and the region’s European integration efforts as an irreplaceable support for maintaining security and stability in Europe.
