The Dutch police were reported today to have fired more guns last night at farmers with tractors who have been protesting for weeks against the government’s measures to reduce nitrogen emissions and consequently reduce the number of animals on farms.
In the massive protest with tractors and vehicles, farmers blocked supermarkets, distribution centers and roads to oppose the arbitrary measures of the government of Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

Friesland police said the shots had hit a tractor, but there were no injuries. According to them, three suspects were arrested. The local prosecutor’s office said it has launched an investigation into the reasons for the shooting and that a statement will be issued today (Wednesday).
Dutch fishermen also showed their support for farmers by blocking the ports, which caused almost all ferries to stop traffic on the northern coast and the Wadden Islands causing long delays for shipping companies.
The strike action was announced in advance as the farmers had called for the paralysis of the whole country” due to the restriction policies.
Airports had also made preparations for blockades on access roads, but traffic was reported to be normal on most of the country’s dense road network.
The police said that would intervene if demonstrators move to block the entrance road to Schiphol international airport near Amsterdam.
It’s been a few weeks already since the Dutch farmers protest strongly and in some cases violently against the policies according to them “absurd” of the government to reduce the heads of productive animals, in order to reduce nitrogen emissions.
Emission reduction measure required by the government would be equivalent to closing 30 percent of the country’s farms or reducing 30 percent of the animals on them.
