The arrival of the Kosovo Albanian diaspora for the end-of-year holidays has not created as usual long queues at the Merdare border crossing.
However, many of them were delayed at the border between Hungary and Serbia, where they waited for more than 3 hours, while Covid 19 certificates are also required.
“We passed well here, on the Hungarian-Serbian border we waited 3 hours and 10 minutes, here 10 minutes. But only here in Kosovo when we came, not at other borders, but I had what I got the vaccine, I told them. I also had my cousin with me. He had the test, he told them. Whatever is taken, we will respect it”.
Other emigrants from different European countries did not have to wait anywhere and expressed their agreement with the anti-Covid measures imposed in Kosovo.
“20 hours, nowhere did we have to wait, because today, Sunday, we set off on Saturday evening. No, they did not ask for them here, they did not ask for me, but we have the vaccines. Measures are needed to protect the population“, He said.
“I left yesterday morning at 07:00 in the morning, one night I stayed in Croatia I did not fall, at the entrance to Serbia 15 minutes, even here 10 minutes. Vaccine certificates do not seem to have been asked of me anywhere, only here. Very well, they have been taken like that everywhere, Germany has them too, I have received three vaccines“, He said.
According to the new government rules, every person entering Kosovo must have a certificate with two doses of vaccine or one dose together with proof that he has passed Covid. Meanwhile, from January 3, only those with full doses of the vaccine will be accepted. Also, persons seeking to enter the territory of Kosovo are given the opportunity to be vaccinated by mobile teams stationed at air and land border crossings.
