Kosovo Police at the border crossing of Vërmicë last night prevented a case of smuggling of migrants. A police press release states that five Bangladeshi nationals entered Kosovo illegally and were received by a Kosovar male driver of a taxi.
“Police patrol from the Border Surveillance Station-Vërmicë, last night around 23:40, during the field observation has noticed some suspicious movements of some people from the mountainous part coming from the Republic of Albania towards the Republic of Kosovo, mainly from part of the “Eagle’s Nest”.
During the observation, five people were noticed who were coming down from the part of the mountain in the direction of the highway where a TAXI car with local license plates was waiting for them. It is about five male citizens, citizens of Bangladesh, who had entered our country illegally and intended to emigrate to western countries. “The police managed to stop this transport, interviewed the driver of the vehicle, the Kosovar male suspect, 35 years old, who states that he intended to send the five emigrants to Prishtina”, it is said in the communiqué.
