Serbian President Aleksandar Vuçi shpre says that Albania and Northern Macedonia should have received the “YES” in Brussels today for the start of negotiations for EU membership.
At a joint conference with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Northern Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovaceski after the EU-Western Balkans summit, Vucic said Serbia would work harder to meet EU standards required by the EU.
“First of all, I believe that our friends deserved to get the start of the negotiation process and I think they will get it as soon as possible. It is necessary because the countries have done everything, in accordance with European regulation.
Meanwhile, in these four months, Serbia has increased trade with the EU. This year we will reach 40 billion euros, it is not a small value. Imagine how big this is for a country as small as Serbia. “I think we can do a lot, I promised our European colleagues that we will do our best to reach European standards.”
