Top Channel journalist Muhamed Veliu, has identified a website which has a database of 3 million mobile phone numbers, along with the names of users of these numbers and the job position of the person to whom the phone number belongs.
The owners of the database of these numbers have also listed the selling prices. It is enough to have a bank card and in a few seconds you become their possessor.
4,000 dollars is the price for the purchase of 3 million data for Albanian mobile phone numbers.
$ 1,500 if you were to buy 1 million number records, $ 1,000 for 500,000 numbers and $ 350 per 100,000 numbers.
The possessor of 3 million Albanian telephone numbers and their seller through an internet platform is a person who uses the name Munnaf Hossain.
According to him, the list he has put up for sale is accurate, authentic, updated with correct information accompanied by phone number, name of the person and postal code.
To prove this Munnaf Hossain has published on his website as an example a part of this database.

It turned out that they are in use and belong to the persons whose name is written on the right of this list.
It remains unclear how Munnaf Hossain was able to secure the 3 million Albanian mobile phone numbers at a time when the law strictly stipulates who should dispose of these numbers.
In the list published as an example for buyers, is the name of security expert Redion Qirjazi who told Top Channel that “finding the culprit always remains the biggest challenge in cyber security threats.”
“This may stimulate the request of citizens not to register personal data or even worse, to aim at illegal forms of owning a mobile phone number. “In the long run, this could create a situation of insecurity for citizens and the government, who would find it impossible to identify callers in cases of criminal acts against other individuals, society or the government.” stated expert Redion Qirjazi.
In the wake of the 9/11 attacks in the US, where terrorist cells used unregistered telephone numbers, in the US and the EU, legislation drastically changed to block the sale of unregistered numbers.
The same thing happened in Albania. All buyers of a number must sign a set of letters and then become the owners of the number.
But all this is devalued both in terms of privacy or security at a time when 3 million Albanian mobile numbers have been put up for sale.
“If the leakage of these numbers was done by employees of security institutions who are authorized to have access, this would damage the image of institutions and create a sense of insecurity among citizens.”, said Redion Qirjazi.
According to expert Qirjazi, this will reduce trust in institutions that have access to Albanian mobile phone numbers, which are already on sale.
