The Formula 1 calendar this weekend predicts the development of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix at the Jeddah track, while the pilots have started from free trials in preparation for Sunday’s race.
However, a rocket caused panic which hit the oil tanks very close to the runway where the pilots were practicing fast laps as the fire made the situation even more frightening.
It all has to do with an attack from Yemen, a country which is in conflict with Saudi Arabia and which decided to attack them at a time when the attention in the Arab state is high, namely from Formula 1. To understand the shock to the pilots , suffice it to say that Versttappen asked his mechanics if the Red Bull car had caught fire.
Meanwhile, the FIA has sent a report to the Saudi Arabian authorities to get guarantees for Sunday’s race, as such an attack has left a bitter taste in the pilots as at this point their safety is compromised.
