The Greek government has taken some measures to regulate the procedures for obtaining immigrants with residence permits in the country.
The announcement was made a few minutes ago by the Ministry of Interior, which clarified that it has sent explanatory circulars to all decentralized offices in the country.
The decision of the Greek government provides: 1- postponement of residence permits until March 31, 2022 for all residence permits that expired before this date.
2- the possibility to apply for renewal of the permit, without issuing the old permit.
The new decision fixes the problems of the past, as there have been thousands of cases where immigrants have had their residence permits expired without receiving them at all because the decentralized offices of the prefectures failed to distribute them on time.
3- It is recognized by all state and private institutions, “blue certification”, or otherwise called online renewal.
With this certificate, it is now possible to cross freely at the border points between the two countries.
Regarding this decision of the Greek government, the expert on migration issues Fatos Malaj says that the interventions in the legislation have been made to solve some practical difficulties for applying or obtaining a residence permit.
He explains that in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, a number of changes are being worked on in order to facilitate or clarify the bureaucratic procedures for granting Greek citizenship, such as the abolition of the second exam after the applicant has previously passed the test, the removal of obstacles. for the income of previous years for those who passed the electronic test exam as well as the simplification of the questionnaire, which experts say is one of the most difficult exams in Europe.
