Greek police on Wednesday arrested the suspected perpetrator of the murder of a 19-year-old two days ago in Thessaloniki.
The news was announced by the Greek Minister of Civil Protection, Takis Theodhorikakos, who said that the suspected perpetrator is a 23-year-old man of Albanian nationality. According to Greek media, his name is Afksendios Garsiu.
Theodhorikakos testified that the 23-year-old Albanian was accompanied along with three other people shortly after the execution of 19-year-old Alqis Kambanou, and after being questioned, the suspect admitted that he was the person who kicked the victim and a sickle, thus causing his death.
It is learned that the suspected perpetrator of this murder was identified by the 19-year-old’s friends and according to whom, he was among the group of people who attacked the fans of the “Aris” team, the capital of northern Greece.
Meanwhile, security footage of a nearby business has fixed its image by attacking the victim.
The 23-year-old has been previously convicted of violent assault and is known as an extremely aggressive person in the circle of hooligans of Greek sports teams.
He is expected to be taken to court to be acquainted with the security measure.
