Residents of Kallem i Vogël live with the heavy smell of hydrocarbons coming from crude oil pits
Hundreds of poultry and small livestock have fallen into these pits in these years. The high temperatures melt the crude oil, turning into a serious danger not only for the animals but also for the children and the residents who own the lands around these pits.
Residents say that these pits were once surrounded by wire nets and guards, but for more than 20 years, both the fences and the guards no longer exist.
