A couple with their 3-month-old baby were crossing the white lines at noon this Sunday on Kavaja Street in Tirana, as they were severely hit by a vehicle.
With the traffic light giving them priority, the couple was crossing to the other side, but a vehicle with a high speed of over 100 km per hour, without respecting the signalization, took them forward injuring them.
The woman VK, 43 years old and the man AK, 48 years old, together with their 3-month-old minor child are in the Trauma Hospital, under the care of doctors, but their health condition is still unknown.
It was a luxury vehicle ‘Mercedes-Benz G-Class’ with German license plates ‘RPII63’, driven by Ajas Sulejmeni, 39 years old, who after a serious accident, abandoned the vehicle and left quickly.
The perpetrator managed to escape from the scene, while the police were able to escort his relative to the police station, who was with him in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
The investigative team is working to apprehend the perpetrator and clarify the circumstances of the event.
