The small animal organization “PETA” accuses the luxury fashion houses “Louis Vuitton” and “Gucci” of cruel methods of killing reptiles. They claim to have solid evidence that reptiles are being brutally killed to make bags, belts and wallets.
Videos posted on its website by the New York Post show slaughterhouse workers in Indonesia repeatedly stabbing reptiles, tying their legs to lizards and dipping them in a tub of water, and beheading snakes.
“Peta” claims that Louis Vuitton takes the skin of reptiles while they are alive to make things like bags.
“Because of their unique physiology, lizards and snakes do not die immediately after being beheaded and their brains can remain capable of feeling pain for more than 30 minutes.” PETA said in a statement.
Relevant videos show two cases in which reptile bodies have continued to move after beheading.
According to the American newspaper “New York Post”, the animal protection organization, PETA, has managed to sneak into the slaughterhouses of reptiles in Indonesia.
Scary photos and videos of reptiles being slaughtered at an on-site slaughterhouse are the first evidence in the hands of PETA and prove how reptiles used in the luxury fashion industry are slaughtered, according to PETA spokeswoman Ashley Byrne.
“We have evidence of cruel methods of killing reptiles.” said Ashley Byrne for the New York Post, “But this is the first time we can find out how they are killed. “These scenes are like in a horror movie.”
