The Minister of Internal Affairs of Montenegro, Sergej Sekulovi., Congratulated the competent authorities for a successful action on January 12, where hundreds of kilograms of cocaine were seized.

Earlier in the day, ruling party lawmaker Marko Milacic announced in a Twitter post that he had received photos of packages of bananas, believed to be hidden in cocaine, by workers at a warehouse in the Voli chain of stores.
Police and the Special Prosecution Office have not yet provided details on how much cocaine was seized.
Also, the management of the company “Voli” has not yet reacted.
The prosecution said that on January 13 it will issue an official statement regarding this action.
This is the second time in the last six months that large quantities of cocaine have been seized in Montenegro.
In August last year, Budimir and Marina Krstovic were arrested in Podgorica on suspicion of being involved in the smuggling of 1,400kg of cocaine, which was also found in packages filled with bananas.
In this case, in December the Prosecution filed an indictment.
Also, in June 2018, Montenegrin customs officials found over 38 kilograms of cocaine during a routine inspection of a container full of bananas, which was being transported from Ecuador./REL/
