Even in Gjirokastra, lawyers have announced a boycott of trials that will last until Wednesday.
Local Chamber leader Tahir Novi said the situation is getting worse and that there are hundreds of trials adjourned so far. According to him, if the institutions do not take measures to provide solutions to the problems of the new judicial map, dissatisfaction with justice will increase and self-judgment and the escalation of private conflicts between the parties will be endangered.
On the other hand, lawyer Novi said that the lawyers’ protest serves the broader solution regarding the format of the new court map. According to him, the public has no interest in increasing the costs created by the closure of some major courts, including the Court of Appeals in Gjirokastra.
The lawyers of Durrës and Vlora have announced the postponement of the boycott today, while the latter are currently in protest.
