The girls seen in Jutta Benzeberg’s target are some young Albanians from remote areas of the country.
Freed from norms they embrace the freedom of their dreams for an achievable future. ”I have a dream “ is the newly opened exhibition at COD, which photography has realized together with UN Women.
The “girls I met during this wonderful project” I have a dream “are sensitive, intelligent, beautiful and very very strong. When I first met both parties I and they were a little shy. “After a few shots we worked very well throughout the process,” said Jutta Benzeberg.
These pictures enable the viewer to overcome the state of the simple spectator and develop a real connection with the person behind the image in the true manifestation of his being. This truth flows into different desires, but the most important among them is freedom and independence.
“What is new in this project is the interviews I conducted with them. Question; what is your dream I did not influence them, even when they said: I have no dreams. What I discovered was the change in the dreams they had. Most of them had a dream and a desire. To be independent. “And that has impressed me a lot,” she said.
This project calls on society for equal rights and opportunities to challenge gender stereotypes. A call that is current at all times
