Top Story has moved today to the new premises of the State Security Information and Documentation Authority. This is the first time a television station has entered and documented state security files, where reports of thousands of people are found.
And who better than Simon Miraka, born as a political prisoner, can confess from the “prison of files”. Miraka tells Top Story with Sokol Balla about the tragedy of the ’45s, where Shkodra had turned into a prison city, while emphasizing the importance of recognizing that dark side of history.
“In ’45, Shkodra had become a prison city, it was about 13 prisons. In one of those houses that had been turned into a prison, I was born. I want the man to be introduced to what he gives today. That period has certainly been extremely difficult, for you unimaginable, it has been an injustice. But I think it is necessary to get acquainted with it, so that this tragedy does not happen again. It’s not work to flatten the chest, no, shot like that unfortunately. We should not forget, if we speak we do not speak with a thud, but we speak so that that tragedy is not repeated. “A people goes to annihilation if it erases its memory.” said Miraka for Top Story.
