In the framework of Kosovo’s independence, the Kukës boxing team joined the competition held by the Boxing Federation in Prishtina.
The young man from Kukës, Meti Hoda, was declared the boxing champion in Kosovo. A year ago, 18-year-old Hoda snatched the champion title in Albania as well. He has been training since the age of 12 and participates in all boxing competitions. It is important for him to be a champion, but according to him it takes a lot of work to win and keep this title.
Boxing coach Bashkim Gjana, suggests that the team he leads has won several titles in both Albania and Kosovo. For years he has been working every day with different age groups.
For the young people from Kukës who have been declared champions in boxing and wrestling, the municipality has decided to give some salaries as a sign of reward.
