With the development of technology, the transmission of TV channels through the cable network has become obsolete with time.
Demands for quality have increased and businesses have for years been offering more advanced ways of transmitting audio-visual content.
TV pirates have followed the same principle by adapting to technological developments and the new opportunities that this innovation brings.
With the development of technology and increasing the quality of television channel broadcasting, the phenomenon of piracy has also increased. Stealing the content of various television platforms from legitimate companies without having any kind of contract with them.
The company “Speed line” for example, a Limited Liability Company LLC, located in Kukës offers channels of the platform “Digitalb” through the Internet.
This company offers its customers the package of Digitalb channels without having any agreement with the latter. So this is a theft, the same as any other theft provided by the Criminal Code.
But, let’s take things in stride and look at the origins and scope of this company first. If we refer to the extract in the National Business Center, it turns out that the entity was established in 2019. The object of activity is internet service provider or ISP, Import-export, sale of various equipment, installation service of equipment for broadcasting TV channels.
This service which is also listed in the extract is offered by the company but illegally as Digitalb, informs us that there is no contract with Speed Line ..
To prove the abuses, the film crew of “Inside Story” went down to the field near a point of the “speed line” in Kukës. The mission was to verify to see if the subject in question was hacking TV channels and performing additional activities from what he had stated in the BCC.
Initially, we rented an apartment in Kukës to install the equipment offered by the company in the broadcasting of TV channels.
Everything from interest in the store to installation and payment has been filmed with a hidden camera.
“Speed Line” in itself is an ISP entity, or in other words Internet Service Provider. So the internet service provider. It also offers TV channels via the internet.
What we had information about this company, was proved by the simulation done by purchasing the equipment and digitalb broadcasting service.
We followed through hidden cameras the whole process of assembling the device and finally verified the package with the channels that were offered. It turns out that the package contains all the channels that were promised to us. This may seem like a good deal for the client who pays 500-600 ALL per month, while the basic package of Digitalb costs 1 thousand ALL per month.
But, we must not forget the fact that for the production of software the company
Digitalb spends millions of euros every year. Herein lies the piracy of pirated companies. Steal programs from those who spend large sums of money and offer cheaper packages. But, as illegal, this activity also carries risks for the consumer. The client may lose the pirated service as soon as the violation is ascertained and the transmission is blocked by AMA and AKEP.
