Monika Kryemadhi has submitted to the Parliament an amendment regarding the process of integration of our country in the European Union.
The amendment addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, requires a comprehensive involvement in the integration process, proposing that the Council for European Integration be composed of all parliamentary parties.
According to the chairwoman of the SMI, this change ensures participation and inclusion. She emphasizes that the process of European Integration in Albania has proceeded at a slow pace.
“The process of European Integration in Albania has not progressed at the pace that we would all like, it has marked great slowdowns and often, has become a victim of tactics and political objectives of particular parties. It is a fact that in all its key moments, whether from the conclusion of the Stabilization and Association Agreement, or the Acquisition of Status as a Candidate, or the very process of opening membership negotiations, all these moments are marked by delays which have come as a result of political conflict, which have caused him to waste precious time and of course our country remains far from the European family, where it belongs to be.
“Based on this reality, clear and indisputable, it is already objective and inevitable that the inclusion and political representation in this National Council for European Integration can be realized only by guaranteeing the representation of each parliamentary party represented in the Assembly with deputies”, stated among other things in the amendment.
