The UN Atomic Energy Agency said today that an agreement had been reached on the installation of cameras in an Iranian nuclear complex, in an effort to revive the full agreement with the Islamic Republic.
The agency says it seeks to deploy equipment that Iran says was damaged in a June “Israeli-perpetrated” sabotage attack.
Negotiations to revive the 2015 international agreement began last week, under which Iran vows to reduce capacity in exchange for lifting economic sanctions.
The UN agency said that “new cameras will soon be installed in the Karaj nuclear centrifuge plant, according to the agreement with Iran’s energy leader, Mohammad Eslami.
The statement added that the two sides will continue to work to resolve the remaining issues to find a solution.
“As a gesture of goodwill, Iran will allow the UN atomic agency to deploy damaged cameras in a foreign sabotage operation at the Karaj plant,” Iranian media reported.
