A clavichord (antique musical instrument of the 18th century, part of the Italian cultural heritage), which was stolen in 2015 from the Parma Conservatory, has been found in a musical instrument shop in Vora.
This rare work, an invaluable part of the collection, was handed over today to the Italian side in a ceremony at the Ministry of Justice, with the presence of the Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja, the Minister of Culture Elva Margariti and the Commander of the Carabinieri command for cultural heritage Roberto Riccardi.
The theft took place at the ‘Arrido Boito’ Conservatory in Parma on New Year’s Eve in 2015. It was only after returning in January that the absence of this antique was noticed. Part of the ‘Laura Alvini’ Collection, a collection of ancient keyboard instruments that belonged to the famous Milanese pianist, who died in January 2005. Its value is thousands of euros.
The cooperation for the return of the instrument started in 2018, but since many institutions were involved in it, including the prosecutor’s offices of two countries, the whole process took time, being finalized only this Tuesday.
