Korça Police has successfully finalized the anti-drug operation codenamed “Restart”, as a result of which the number of detainees has increased to 7.
252.4 kg of narcotics were also seized, while this operation started a month ago for cracking down on a criminal group in the field of narcotics trafficking towards the Greek state.
Following the operation, the third case of attempted drug trafficking was hit, 65 kilograms of suspected cannabis were seized, and 2 other citizens were handcuffed.
Specialists of the Section for Investigation of Illegal Trafficking and Narcotics in the Local Police Directorate of Korça, in cooperation with the CIA, under the direction of the Prosecution of the Korça Judicial District, following the operation codenamed “Restart”, launched 1 month ago, as as a result of which 5 citizens were handcuffed and 187.4 kg of suspected cannabis were seized as material evidence, in-depth investigative actions were continued to fully document this criminal activity.
As a result of the information gathered from proactive investigations and well-organized work, another case of attempted drug trafficking in the direction of the Greek state was struck, where another member of this criminal group, namely SK, was arrested in flagrante delicto. 42 years old, resident in Korça.
The above citizen was caught by the police services on the road axis Korça-Kapshtica, with a vehicle type “Volvo”, during which control were found and seized as material evidence 72 packages weighing 65 kg of suspected narcotic substance cannabis “quantity which would be trafficked in the direction of the Greek state”, reports the police.
Also in the framework of this operation, the criminal offense “Narcotics Trafficking” was stopped, committed in collaboration, remaining an attempt, of the citizen EF, 32 years old, resident in Korça, suspected of being implicated in the event of 06.11. 2021, where 4 citizens L. R were arrested in flagrante delicto; J. M; IM and A. Ç.
In close cooperation with the Prosecution, investigations into this operation are ongoing to apprehend and bring to justice the other persons involved.
The materials were handed over to the Korça Judicial District Prosecutor’s Office.
