In Kosovo, people over 60 will be able to receive the fourth dose of the vaccine against the coronavirus, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced.
The Ministry of Health said on July 7 that it has approved the recommendation of the Committee for immunization of the population with the vaccine against COVID-19. According to this decision, people over 60 years old, who have received the third dose at least four months ago, can also receive the fourth dose.
“The Ministry of Health calls on citizens to be vaccinated against COVID-19, without any hesitation, to prevent the increase in cases of COVID-19, severe forms of the disease and deaths from this disease,” the announcement states.
In Kosovo, all persons over 12 years of age can be vaccinated with the first and second dose. Meanwhile, with the third dose, all people over 18 years old.
Kosovo has recently been registering an increase in cases of the disease COVID-19.
So far, over 1.8 million doses of the vaccine have been administered. Of this figure, 103,344 people received three doses, 823,818 were immunized with two doses, while 903,523 people were immunized with one dose.
Since March 2020, when the first cases were registered in the country, until July 6, 2022, Kosovo has registered 230,054 cases of coronavirus and 3,140 deaths./Rel
