Democrat Edvin Kulluri was present today in “Top Talk”, where he said that the only way to save the DP is to remove Berisha and pave the way for reforming the party.
He said, among other things, that Berisha lowered himself by saying that his two opponents, Basha and Rama, are the authors of the declaration non grata by Britain and the USA, as he gives too much weight to them and discourages his supporters.
This is a cost for the Democratic Party and the biggest for Berisha. Regardless of the regrets I feel for Berisha, I feel sorry for the PD and about its future and the situation in which the country finds itself with a government that has exhausted all means to be successful and with an opposition that is unable to rise again.
With what he said today, Berisha lowered himself because the leader of the opposition cannot allow himself to discourage his supporters by raising the values of his opponent Edi Rama. This is wrong because he is saying that my two opponents are people who are running the USA and Great Britain. This is ridiculous because there is no one in the world who believes that Lulzim Basha can lead the door guard of the Democratic Party and no longer lead the powerful states. Even Edi Rama has power in the government and SP, but not in another country.
Berisha should have listened to all the kind advice of a person like me who I have respected for all his contribution during 30 years in politics. I still remain of the attitude that one should respect his history but there is always an end in politics.
Not only Berisha was declared non-grata, the United Kingdom also has 27 people. This process of declaring non-grata is beyond Berisha. There are two former MPs of the SP, former prosecutor Llalla. Here there is a clear political stance according to their conviction based on the conviction they have where certain persons are seen as an obstacle to the development of democracy. Berisha should have withdrawn in time and taken a public stand. With each passing day it will be more impossible for him to withdraw. Withdrawal would be the only solution and pave the way for a serious reform of the DP.
