After the four-day boycott, the Chamber of Advocates, in a reaction, warns of escalation of stay until a national and indefinite boycott.
As of Tuesday, lawyers have been involved in boycotting the merits proceedings. They demand that the judiciary government withdraw from the new judicial map in which 18 courts are reduced.
About 2 thousand lawyers have boycotted the processes in the form of strikes to force the HJC to reflect on the new court map, for which in fact the HJC has already voted to close many courts.
But, in the reaction of the Chamber of Advocates, it is stated that “The HJC has ignored and has not considered their proposals.

Steering Committee of the Albanian Bar Association, in the extended meeting of
dated 17 June 2022, with the participation of the chairmen of the local chambers of
advocacy, considered the implementation of the decision to boycott the proceedings
court for the four-day period. This Steering Committee evaluates the fulfillment of
gellimit for which this decision was taken, considering it as the beginning of a process for
fulfilling the requirements related to practicing the profession of lawyer in
Republic of Albania.
We appreciate that the Albanian Bar Association has been present since the beginning of
drafting of the Judicial Map project, the problems of the practical implementation of a
such projects. It was regrettably found to have openly ignored and not taken us
consideration by the KLG]of our proposals, in its decision dated
10.06.2022.
We stand by our assessment that this court map is in complete violation of that
the right of the individual to access justice, lack of efficiency in its realization
the right to protection and the aggravation of the economic – social situation of the individual.
The Albanian Chamber of Advocates requests the Council of Ministers, as the body
decision-maker for the approval of the court map, to take into account the remarks and
the proposals made by us are the gateway to this whole process. Do not take

the decision-making process by the government will be subject to evaluation of the attitude of
the Chamber of Advocates, escalating our future stance towards a
total and indefinite boycott.
