The works for lot 1 of the Shkodra bypass have been completed and this whole segment with a length of 4.8 kilometers is already open for the movement of vehicles.
The axis is equipped with all urban elements, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, lighting and greenery, serving as a pedestrian for the citizens of Shkodra.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, together with the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship Protection, Edona Bilali and the Director of the Albanian Road Authority, Evis Berberi inspected the works performed for this work.
“It is a tear that consists of 4.8 kilometers long, with two crossings of 7 meters wide for the movement of cars. The axis has all the necessary elements for a road of this category, we have bicycle lanes, sidewalk, greenery, side and central lighting. This segment will greatly facilitate the traffic and movement within the city “, announced the director of ARA.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku said that the Shkodra bypass is part of the Tirana-Hani i Hotit axis, but that facilitates traffic within the city. Calling on drivers to be careful, as the road, due to the elements that are part of the project, will also serve as a pedestrian for citizens, stressed the need for maintenance of this work.
Regarding Shkodra, the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy said that there are a number of important projects, mainly in infrastructure that affect this city, but also the surrounding area, further promoting economic development.
“We have bigger infrastructure plans here, which we have discussed with all actors in the Shkodra area and are important and larger interventions, which will make this part an integral part of the Adriatic-Ionian corridor. , which we intend to start during 2022, since that corridor starts from Muriqan and will have to be connected with Shkodra. Undoubtedly we are always used to Shkodra crossing or crossing as is the case here, with the axes leading to the Hoti Inn, but it is important to say that due to the Adriatic-Ionian corridor we will pay special attention also part of Muriqan customs. Given the work that will be done, there will again be other infrastructural interventions, which will make Shkodra go directly to that corridor, always leaving the alternative of existing roads. “Even the entrance bridge is something we consider, to process larger volumes”, announced Balluku.
Minister Bilali, at the same time deputy of Shkodra region, said that this is a long-awaited act by the citizens as it has been a constant request of theirs. “The next promise kept. It has been a long-term request of the citizens and we MPs as their representatives have forwarded this request. I am very glad that this Government hears the voice of the citizens, as is the concrete case of byppas, but also the fantastic news you mentioned about Shkodra are requests of citizens and businesses, which are largely supported by tourism and infrastructure is the step of seen for its development “, said Bilali.
The Shkodra Bypass starts at the entrance of the city and ends at its exit connecting with the Shkodra-Hani i Hotit segment. This segment will serve the road users who are destined for the customs of Hani i Hotit as well as all the surroundings of the Great Highlands, thus avoiding the entrance inside the city of Shkodra. Lot 2 of the bypass will be developed in cooperation with the Albanian Development Fund, which will treat it as a promenade and as a garden incorporated within the great development that the area has received.
