French President Emmanuel Macron has condemned Russian attacks in Ukraine. The French president spoke with Ukrainian President Vlodymyr Zelensky early Thursday morning, calling for “multiple interventions” to support Ukraine, according to the Elysee Palace.
“France strongly condemns Russia’s decision to declare war on Ukraine,” Macron said, urging Moscow to immediately suspend military operations.
“France stands in solidarity with Ukraine, is on the side of the Ukrainians and is working with partners to end the war,” Macron added.
Zelensky also called for “unity in Europe” and Macron “assured him of France’s support and solidarity”, according to Elysee.
Macron also spoke with Charles Michel, president of the European Council, on Thursday morning.
