12 boys and 2 girls came to life after midnight until the early hours of the morning in the two maternity hospitals of Tirana, a good omen for 2022 that has just arrived.
In the annual tradition, Minister Ogerta Manastirliu was this morning near the first children of 2022, where she distributed the baby check to the newborns, wishing this year to be healthy and prosperous for all Albanians.
“The year 2022 will be the year of children, of the implementation of new policies and programs for our children. We will continue the neonatal care program with investments in the new maternity hospitals of Berat, Kukës, the major investment in the maternity hospital “Queen Geraldine” and the maternity hospital Koço Gliozheni. “Our investments will not stop”, said Manastirliu.
Speaking about 2022 as the year of children, the Minister of Health said:
“Policies for the well-being of children will be even more part of the development policies of all sectors, so this year will be the year of children. As stated by Prime Minister Edi Rama, this year will open a new era for children, in terms of school and extracurricular programs for children, from programs for culture, arts and crafts, to new programs in technology and innovation. On the other hand, in the new health and social policies, we open this year the eye care program for 300 thousand children; the program of support for children without parental care with the tripling of economic assistance for orphaned children; doubling the economic assistance for families with three children under 18 years old “, said Manastirliu.
Speaking about the universal baby bonus program, Manastirliu said:
“There are more than 115 thousand children who have benefited from the baby bonus program since 2019. Only this year over 40 thousand children have received the bonus and this program that supports newborns, will continue.”
