The city of Mariupol is in a real humanitarian emergency, as it has been under attack by Russian forces for five days and there is no drinking water, electricity, and food is running out at a frightening pace.
So reports the international news agency Reuters, on the eastern Ukrainian city, which is also one of the key points where the war can be decided.
The siege of the city was made five days ago by Russia and it seems that the ban on the passage of food reserves was among their first moves.
The mayor of the city has stated that the situation in the city is very difficult. Food stocks are on the verge of depletion and if there is no rapid humanitarian aid, this could be the capitulation of one of the most important cities in Ukraine.
The only other city fallen so far is the southern one of Kherson, which was attacked by Russian forces from Crimea.
