The Western Balkans is probably the second most endangered region by Vladimir Putin’s machinations, after Ukraine, so the process of integration into the union should be accelerated, said Foreign Minister Olta Xhaçka at the EU roundtable.
According to Xhacka, after the crisis caused by the situation in Ukraine, the integration process had to be accelerated in order to stabilize the Western Balkans region.
She said that Ukraine is turning into a source of distraction and reason, to delay decision-making for the integration of the region.
“The Western Balkans is probably the second most endangered region by Vladimir Putin’s machinations, after Ukraine. Today we are talking about an EU where in the approach to the integration of our region nothing has changed in concrete terms. What is certain is that as the EU thinks, we will continue to work for the reforms and for the Europeanization of the country and we will continue to work with all our possibilities for the deepening of the regional cooperation. As we will continue to work to the best of our ability in the Security Council and elsewhere, to diplomatically advance the common agenda of priorities“, Said Chief Diplomat Xhaçka in her speech.
Part of the roundtable was also the outgoing EU Ambassador to Albania, Luigi Soreca, for whom Minister Xhaçka expressed maximum appreciation, calling him a good friend who has helped and supported Albania in the integration process.
