The protesters of “5 May” have blocked the way to the Prime Minister Edi Rama, while he was going to the Assembly to hold the plenary session.
Residents clashed with police, while emphasizing that they have not signed any agreement with the municipality.

For days, the residents of “5 May” have been protesting against the demolition of apartments to pave the way for the reconstruction project.

Representatives of the residents of May 5, together with residents of Paskuqan and Laparaka who are affected by the Great Ring Road project that have risen in protest in recent weeks, held a meeting with President Ilir Meta to present their problems.
The Minister of Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku said that none of the residents affected by the Great Ring Road project will be left on the streets.
Residents of the “5 May” area, both those with ownership certificates and those who do not have legalized apartments, will receive full compensation through compensation with an apartment in the new buildings with the same square meters they had. During this period the affected residents will benefit from the rent bonus.
Those who have legalized houses and are affected by the Great Ring project will be expropriated while those who do not have the relevant documentation will be treated according to the legislation in force.
According to information, there are a total of 102 buildings that need to be demolished to continue working with the Reconstruction project.
