Blendi Teta has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, after collaborating in the murder of former effective Santiago Malko in 2019.
Recall that the former police officer of the capital was killed on the evening of August 27, 2019 in a well-organized assassination.
The incident happened around 22:20 on “Xhanfize Keko” street, when 26-year-old Santiago Malko was shot at by the car of another moving car.
The young man was a familiar name to the authorities. In 2016, he was an employee of the General Patrol of the Capital Police.
The suspicions are that the 26-year-old was executed for revenge, as it is thought that he was involved in a criminal event that took place in the city of Durrës, an event that was implemented with the same mechanism as Malko was killed.
Santiago Malko resigned from police over three years before he was killed. His name was first curved in 2016 by the police press offices themselves after a physical conflict over gambling debts.
He then appeared with hats on his head on security cameras inside a bar in the Block area, during an exchange of firearms where one person was killed and two others were injured.
But as it turned out from subsequent investigations, Malko had not committed any suspicious action to justice did not open problems for him.
In front of the black platoon of GJKKO, Teta denied that he was involved in the murder of the young man. According to him, he had nothing to do with the event and there is no evidence that he is involved in the mafia assassination.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor of the case, Behar Dibra, contradicted his statements, telling the court that there is enough evidence in the files of the investigative file that Teta had a leading role in the mafia assassination.
According to him, in addition to the film footage, there is evidence of Tet’s DNA that implicates him in the event.
Leonard Duka, Erlis Duka, Oltian Loga, Fatmir Hyseni, Dritan Agaj, Aleksandër Maxhaku and Xhoni Nica continue to be declared wanted in connection with the event.
From the security cameras that have recorded the serious event in the area of Xhamllik in Tirana, where Santiago Malko was killed, Ilir Selmani has been seen getting out of a car and collecting from the ground the cigarette butts that Blendi Teta had previously consumed, throwing them in the trash.
