The Royal Guard of Norway, in cooperation with the Wind Orchestra of the Albanian Armed Forces, performed yesterday on the Boulevard ‘Dëshmorët e Kombit’.
Together with the Minister of Defense and ambassadors accredited in our country, present at this event was also the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj who stressed that the presence of the Norwegian Guard is one of the most important events among the 1000 events that are take place within Tirana European Capital of Youth.
“This is a privilege for our city. His Majesty’s King Harald V’s tour of Skopje, Podgorica, Zagreb, as well as Tirana, is a manifestation of Norway’s solidarity with Southeast Europeans, allies, friends, NATO members, carries a symbolism and gives an important message. As President Kennedy said: Geography has made us neighbors, history has made us friends, the economy has made us partners, and necessity has made us allies. “Those whom nature has brought together, let no one separate them.”said Veliaj.
The mayor gave the message that peace is not good, so we must work hard to preserve it.
“It is a blessing for our countries that are in Europe to be among the countries that know that through NATO, which is the largest defense alliance, an epic defense system, where all countries are ready to unite and protect each other. “This story that is happening during this time in Ukraine has escalated dramatically, seeing the world on the other side of Europe, would make us say that no country is capable of seeing and appreciating the values of good neighborliness.” said Veliaj
The Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi considered this activity the continuation of a very good relationship that Albania and Norway have in the field of defense as NATO allies.
