Albania supports the membership of Finland and Sweden in NATO, and the relevant procedures will start soon.
This position was announced by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka during the informal two-day meeting of the North Atlantic Council (NAC), in Berlin this weekend.
Regarding the situation in Ukraine, Minister Xhaçka said that the union is the key to the collective security of the alliance, while following the support that Albania has given to Ukraine, he indicated that our country will be part of the new combat group in Bulgaria. .
According to Xhacka, NATO should pursue an open door policy for other Western Balkan countries, including Kosovo, which shares the same values, as a contribution to the security of Europe as a whole.
