New York officials destroyed about 100 motorcycles on sports or rural roads seized from city streets, where they are considered illegal and dangerous.
Mayor Eric Adams said he was determined to remove “threatening vehicles” from city streets by signaling the flag bulldozer to suppress 92 rural, two- or four-wheeled vehicles.
“The city police have been working to get rid of these noisy, threatening and dangerous vehicles from our streets,” he said.
“As you can see from the number of vehicles we are destroying today, we are keeping our promise,” said the mayor, adding that since the beginning of the year 900 illegal motor vehicles have been removed from the roads.
“They will be turned into scrap metal and recycled,” said Adams, as the bulldozer crushed the motorcycles several times to flatten them as much as possible.
