Northern Macedonia registered 26 coronavirus victims and 1,543 new cases on Wednesday, the Institute of Public Health announced. The positive cases were after testing 4,667 samples.
The positivity rate from the tests performed is 33.01 percent.
The total death toll has reached 8,470 and over 80 percent of them are persons who were not vaccinated.
According to the Institute, 1,061 people have been cured while about 14,300 cases are active.
Regarding the infected, the largest number of them, or 784 cases, were registered in Skopje.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has announced the infection of about 400 students or 0.15 percent of about 250,000 children attending primary and secondary education in Northern Macedonia.
The Infectious Diseases Commission has announced that it is planning a rapid testing of students in schools to have an overview of the epidemiological situation of students after the beginning of the second semester with physical presence.
