Kosovo’s relations with Greece are softening day by day, said the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti after a meeting that took place on Wednesday evening with the Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Dendias.
“Relations between Kosovo and Greece are getting closer every day. It is a testament to our good bilateral relations, but also a recognition of our shared values of freedom and democracy. “It is a pleasure to receive the Greek Foreign Minister, Dendias, at dinner last night.” wrote Kurti on Twitter.
Kosovo has long sought recognition from Greece, which is still lacking, despite the fact that reciprocal visits between officials of the two countries have recently become more frequent.
On Wednesday, Dendias in Kosovo was also received by President Vjosa Osmani. Kurti, for his part, met with the Greek chief diplomat after returning from a visit to the UK.
One of the topics on which their conversation was focused was energy, which continues to be a problem in Kosovo, and undoubtedly the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue was mentioned, as well as the European perspective of the country.
Greece is one of the five countries of the European Union that has not yet recognized the citizenship of Kosovo, but maintains a constructive approach in the political and economic field.
