On the 23rd anniversary of the establishment of the Kosovo Police, 21 policemen who died in the line of duty were also honored.
Their family members came to remember them near the “Centre” station, including the son of Enver Zymer, the policeman who was killed during the takeover of the Jarinje and Bërnjak border points in 2011.
Sokol is proud of his father on the 11th anniversary of his fall, although he adds that it would be a relief for him if the authorities manage to catch his killer.
To remember his father, Egzon Rexhepi was also present, who is already following his path as a member of the Kosovo Police.
Police officers who lost their lives while on duty were also honored by the director of the Kosovo Police.
In 1999, in accordance with the OSCE mission and resolution 1244, the Kosovo Police Service was founded with 176 members, to be later transformed into the Kosovo Police, which currently numbers about 8,000 officers in uniform.
