International sanctions are showing strong signs of impact on the Russian economy.
The Ukrainian military announced that the company that manufactures and repairs Russian tanks, has suspended work at its factory in central Russia, in Chelyabinsk due to lack of imported parts.
In a statement on Facebook, a general of the Ukrainian Air Force announced that the Uralvagonzavod factory has closed its doors due to the lack of ingredients produced outside Russia. It has been reported by the Ukrainian Intelligence that this plant constantly uses western parts for the production and repair of tanks.
And the sanctions imposed by most Western countries have begun to have an effect on the Russian economy. A day earlier, the European Union’s foreign and defense ministers met to discuss more sanctions against Russia over its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine.
The meeting came ahead of a series of meetings between Western allies to discuss Ukraine: an EU summit, a NATO summit, and meetings between the seven most industrialized countries (G7) later in the week. Poland and the Baltic states are the ones pushing harder for tougher sanctions on Russia, including imports of Russian oil and gas.
