Over 29,500 people have entered the country for the end-of-year holidays from the port of Durrës.
During the holiday season, the number of passengers and vehicles operating ferries to the country’s largest port doubles.
Over 29 thousand passengers have entered Albania through the largest port in the country during the last 10 days, while weekends record the largest influx of arrivals in the country from this border crossing.
This morning, the two ferries of the Bari line have arrived, while before noon, the one of Ancona is expected to arrive.
From the statistical data of the Durrës Port Authority, it is learned that in the last 10 days of this year have traveled about 35,000 passengers, of which over 29,000 at the entrance and the rest at the exit.
Compared to the same period a year ago, about 12 thousand more people have entered the country for these holidays.
For two weeks, measures to cope with the influx in the port to avoid delays in processing have entered into force. According to the police authorities, work is being done with 20 counters, 10 of which are dedicated for passengers with vehicles, 7 counters for pedestrians and 3 for trucks.
In the introduction, pursuant to the Committee’s protocol, police structures require travelers to have the vaccination certificate of the country where the vaccine was applied, including PCR of the unvaccinated.
Previously, Albania has agreed to recognize EU digital certificates for travel from any EU country to our country. The local health care unit informs that in cases when they did not have any of the documents, the passengers fill in a statement and stay in quarantine for 10 days.
