The Polish Border Guard has said that the number of refugees who have entered the country from Ukraine since the start of the Russian occupation has exceeded two million.
This number is larger than the population of the Polish capital, Warsaw.
The Border Guard said in a Twitter post on Friday that the number of refugees entering Poland is decreasing every day.
According to her, 52,000 people have crossed the border in the last 24 hours.
“Most are women and children. Guard officers are the first Poles to assist them after crossing the border. “Most of the time, expressing support means a lot,” said the Border Guard.
More than 3 million people have fled the war in Ukraine, according to the United Nations.
