Along with it, the government bonus of 3 thousand ALL per month as compensation for the increase of prices.
But although it is a help, 3 thousand extra lekë per month are not enough for pensioners.
“They do not work for us, only for the medicines, how much we spend”, say retirees.
A family that has more than one beneficiary pensioner, have the right to withdraw the entire bonus if the pensions have a value lower than 13,320 ALL. The scheme is somewhat complicated.

Old age pension with a monthly amount lower than 13,320 ALL
Retired heads of households who receive electricity compensation
Astrit Hado: 2 pensioners in a family, one can be with a disability pension and the other has a pension lower than 13,320 ALL, of course both receive it. But if they have higher than these or are not family pensions or disability and one of the two pensioners receives electricity compensation then only one person has the right to withdraw the bonus, not both. They must be both with the amount of pension under 13,320 lek or be disabled or family pension.
In order not to create long queues, the Social Insurance Institute clarifies that the bonus will be received on the same date as the pension.
Astrit Hado: But the pensioners, at the post office on Durrës Street, have been told to wait for several hours because there is no money.

This delay comes because the post office is waiting for the money, coming from the bank.
The bonus of 3 thousand ALL will be given for three months, so in total 9 thousand ALL and the deadline to withdraw it is until June 30.
