Pep Guardiola does not call the elimination of Manchester City in the semifinals of the Champions a failure. The Spanish coach, speaking to the English media, said that he will try again next season to win the cup with big ears.
“No words can describe how we all feel. Only time can help us. We need to sleep to think and think about the next goal. On Saturday night we will be together and talk about what team we are and what we have done to get to the Champions League semifinals. “These are the moments that make me proud to be here.”
This is the answer of Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, when asked if he had talked to the players after the loss against Real Madrid in the semifinals of the Champions League.
“People say that if we do not win it is a failure, but it is not, because we know how difficult everything is. We understand that they are all sad. The boys wanted the finale. “Real deserved it, but we were there and it is important to be there and try again next season,” added the Spaniard.
Speaking ahead of the next Premier League game against Newcastle, the City manager said he was still “hungry for victory”: “I can not spend a year just thinking how happy I am. If we had won the Champions League, for some it would have been thanks to the money we spend, not how much we work. Players now do not understand this, but for us “loss” is like a gift. “I would like to win the Champions League, but to do that we have to be better than the team that lost in Madrid.”
Already the goal is to win the title in England.
“The focus will be the same. I do not think about the title, I think about Newcastle. I’m focused on the team and Eddie Howe. “Kevin de Bruyne is available.”
