Albanian personal data are no longer personal, as in recent months we have witnessed the flow of information to thousands of citizens.
Dean Çelaj, digital creator, says it is important to invest in data storage systems to keep information secure.
Invited to “Top Story”, Çelaj explains that not only the creator of the systems should be held responsible, but investment should be made in them.
According to him, the systems in the country have problems and to explain this, he draws a parallel with the constructions in the country.
“It’s like buildings that are made without a plan. As with construction, even in this case, we can suffer more after 10-20 years”.
Top Channel journalist Muhamed Veliu, has identified a website which has a database of 3 million mobile phone numbers, along with the names of users of these numbers and the job position of the person to whom the phone number belongs.
The owners of the database of these numbers have also listed the selling prices. It is enough to have a bank card and in a few seconds you become their possessor. 4,000 dollars is the price for the purchase of 3 million data for Albanian mobile phone numbers. $ 1,500 if you were to buy 1 million number records, $ 1,000 for 500,000 numbers and $ 350 per 100,000 numbers.
This is not the only list of telephone numbers circulating on the network. The scandal started with the publication of the list of patrons, part of which were the cell phone numbers of these persons included in the list, to continue with the publication of the salary database along with the phone numbers and license plates of vehicles that caused a social conflict .
Exposure to this sensitive data demonstrates the need to strengthen cyber security at a time when storing personal data is becoming a major challenge.
