Three vehicles were burned on Friday night in Shkodra and Vlora. It is suspected that the arson was intentional.
In the early hours of the morning, the vehicle of a police officer in Shkodra was set on fire.
The event took place in the neighborhood “Three Heroes”, a few meters away from the house of police officer Sokol Kroni. He had parked his vehicle, like every other night, as around 4:00 a.m., he noticed the fire.
The arrival of the fire department made it possible to extinguish the flames but the car was partially burned. Security cameras filmed the moment when a young boy, with a hood, approached the vehicle, lubricated it with fuel and set it on fire.
The fire also endangers the perpetrator who seems to miraculously escape without being caught in the flames. Afterwards, the perpetrator quickly leaves through the alleys of the neighborhood.
Asked by his colleagues and the prosecution, the police officer, Sokol Kroni stated that he has no conflicts with anyone. He currently holds the position of area police officer at Thethi tourist spot. The suspicions are that the event may have occurred due to the duty he holds.
Even in Vlora, two vehicles were intentionally burned during the night. At around 02:00, it was reported that a car was burning in the “10 July” neighborhood. Firefighters together with the police went to the scene when they managed to extinguish the flames that had involved the “Fiat” 500 car with Bulgarian license plates owned by a 33-year-old man.
The flames have spread to another car type “Mercedes” which has been parked near the car type “Fiat”. Police are working to uncover the event by taking security cameras in the area.
