Controls have also been intensified to prevent driving under the influence of alcohol, in a drunken state or without a driving license. During the last week, 34 driving licenses were suspended and 11 drivers were arrested in flagrante delicto, for drunk driving and 16 other drivers, for driving without a driving license.
5,000 new lek each, 12 drivers, were fined for keeping children behind the wheel or in the first place.
Also, 30,000 new lekë were fined each, for traffic light violations, 11 drivers, while 145 drivers were fined with 3,000 new lekë, for parking in white lines, tortured and other places where they became obstacles for free movement of vehicles.
